Wordless Wednesday: Someone Forget To Teach Rich How To Fly A Kite!

In all seriousness, though, he tried his best and in doing so made Shiloh extremely happy. Even though he was kind of embarassed, due to my teasing him, he kept trying because he's an awesome dad like that.

Austin's Baptism Weekend (A Lot Of Pics)

This past weekend Shiloh and I were in North Carolina for my nephew Austin's baptism. It was such a great weekend full of family, kite flying, Yo Gabba Gabba watching, hide and seeking, chalk drawing, and not so great professional picture taking of all three grandkids.

Easter

I hope everyone had a blessed and happy Easter! We went to church here in the Loganville area for the first time since moving. We went to the church Rich and I used to attend with his parents before his mom passed away. It was a nice service but I think we are going to continue looking for our church. The demographic there has definitely gone to the 55 and over crowd....which is fine, but we would like to find a church that has more people our age. That was one thing we enjoyed about Cornerstone in Athens.

Anyway, after church we visited with Rich's coworker/friend and his family for a nice Easter dinner and egg hunt. It was nice to spend Easter with family, even though it was someone else's family. And Shiloh loved the Easter egg hunt and actually found quite a few eggs herself. I was pretty proud!

Also, on our way to Dale's house we picked up a little Pug that was roaming a very busy road. We brought him home and are planning on putting up signs this evening near where we found him in case his owners are looking for him. If we don't get a response from the owners we will be giving him away. He seems like a very good dog. I might want to keep him if we didn't already have two. Two dogs are MORE than enough for me.

Madeline Spohr

A little girl, only one month younger than Shiloh, tragically passed away last night. She was born November 11, 2007 three months premature. After 68 days in the NICU she was sent home and had since grown into a healthy, happy toddler. She was taken to the hospital Monday afternoon with a cough/some congestion. Tuesday evening she was intubated and passed away later that night.

Maddie's mom, Heather, has plans to participate in the March of Dimes March for Babies this month. Heather and her husband, Mike, have asked that in lieu of flowers people donate to the March of Dimes in Maddies name. I've added a link below if anyone feels compelled to do so. I don't know this family. I believe they live in California. I just can't imagine what they are going through and want to show my support for them in whatever way possible I can.

Big Girl!

Since I missed the last couple of Wordless Wednesday here are a few pictures from today. In Shiloh's neverending quest to be like Rich and myself she is now refusing to use her high chair, so we compromised and today she sat at the table using her high chair as only a seat.

We're Still Alive!

We've been extremely busy moving and then the rain started (it still has yet to stop) and I've been in a blah kind of mood ever since, so blogging hasn't been happening. Here's what you've missed.

Like I said, we moved! We closed on the new house March 6th and officially moved in the weekend of March 21/22. Our first week here was awesome. I think Shiloh and I spent more time outside that week than we did all of last year! The ability to be outside all together (myself, Shiloh and the dogs) is so great! The first day we brought the dogs to the house I could have stood outside all day watching them run around together. I think the fenced in backyard might just be my favorite feature of the new house! However, since that first week it's been rainy and chilly so we've been stuck indoors.

We're still working on unpacking....yes, we're taking our time. My dad may be visiting the beginning of May, though, so I'm sure we'll be done by then at least.

We're definitely enjoying living in Loganville rather than Athens. Rich's good friend from high school, Brandon, lives in the next neighborhood down from us so we've been spending a lot of time with him and his girlfriend. It's nice to already have friends so close.

My birthday was this past Monday....the big 2-7. Shiloh's Godfather, Zach...another of Rich's good friends from high school...and his girlfriend watched Shiloh for the first time Monday so Rich and I could go out to dinner by ourselves. I was extremely nervous about that. Shiloh has spent a good amount of time with Zach but not frequent enough that she really knows him well and she'd only met his girlfriend once. They said she did well, though, and offered to watch her again! While Shiloh was with "Uncle Zach" Rich and I enjoyed a great dinner at Taco Mac! Anytime we get a chance to go out to dinner without Shiloh it's alwasy a wing place. After her birth we quit eating out at Wild Wing, Taco Mac, etc. because wings are too messy when trying to deal with a baby while you eat. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed myself! After our dinner we played some basketball in the small arcade area in the restaurant and I, of course, beat Richard! Thank you.

On a not-so-great note, the buyers for our old house backed out with a week and a half to go until the closing date. The house is now back on the market and we're hoping it won't take too long to get it under contract again. It was a little depressing at first, but I have faith that God has a plan for us and it will all unfold in his time.
