Guess What!?

There's a sleeping baby named Grace on my chest right now.  And let me tell you, it's heaven.

Dance Recital

Last weekend was Shiloh's third dance recital!  I feel like such an old mom saying that. :)

She was amazing, of course.  But, seriously, this girl worked so hard and memorized every step to their dance.  I was SO proud of her.  She's growing up so fast.  Too fast.

A quick update for anyone interested.  This past Friday we spoke with Kim's dad and he informed us that we would have a final decision from Kim within 2-5 days.  Well, today is day five.  Kim and her dad have both told us that she is leaning more towards placing, but I know she is still very much so struggling with the decision.  I'm still not certain we'll hear from her today.  I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't.  I guess we'll see.

Some Good News

One of the reasons Kim decided to postpone the adoption is the putative father registry.  The bio dad had been making negative comments about the potential adoption, and apparently mentioned the putative father registry to Kim while she was in the hospital.  After he mentioned that, she decided that she wanted to wait until we received the final word regarding the registry before making her final decision.  Today we received the results from the registry.  He is not on it.  Now, it is all up to Kim.  We should know her final decision Sunday, at the latest.

It feels better knowing that, one way or another, this is almost over.  We were so sure that this was going to happen.  We'd all been here before, and knew what to expect.  Either way, after Sunday, we will be able to start our new journey as a family of four, or start the process of fully grieving and moving on.

On a non-adoption related subject.  The first few days after returning from the hospital we were able to throw ourselves into getting Shiloh's "new" room together.  I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.  We basically emptied out her old furniture and brought her new stuff in.  I'm sure that doesn't sound like much of a project, but we also sorted her gazillion stuffed animals and all of her junk toys into donate, keep and throw away piles.  That was the hardest part.  We have two commercial sized garbage bags full of stuffed animals to donate, and another bag in the closet full of stuffed animals we couldn't part with, but don't want displayed in her room.  Here are some pictures of the final product.

Her bed before the bed skirt arrived.  Quilt, pillows and sham were made by my mom.  As well as the valences.
Her comfy corner.  I need to make/purchase more pillows.

The baby is at home with Kim.

We're doing okay.  That's about all I'm ready to say right now.

Almost There

We leave for Columbus this afternoon.  Kim is being admitted to the hospital at 6 pm to start the induction process.

Please continue to pray for all involved, and please say an extra prayer for me.  I woke up with a sore throat yesterday and I'm not feeling too great today.  Yay for perfect timing.  ;)

We Have A Plan

Just wanted to let you all know that Baby G will be here Sunday at the latest!  It's SO nice to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!  Please keep Kim, Baby G, and our family in your prayers!

Maybe Today?

I'm REALLY hoping that today is the day, and I have so many cute reasons as to why it should be.  You want to hear them?!  Of course you do!

1. Today is National Brothers and Sisters Day!  I know it's just some silly holiday that someone made up, but it still counts.
2. Shiloh was born on the first= She is our first daughter.  Today is the second= Second daughter.
3. Shiloh was born on a Monday.  Will was born on a Tuesday.  Today is Wednesday.
4.  Shiloh was born two days past her due date.  Will was three days past his.  This baby was due on the 28th, so today makes four days past.

So I guess I don't have SO MANY reasons, but I think four is pretty convincing.  However, if she's anything like her big sis (stubborn as all get out), she'll arrive at midnight tonight on the dot.

A New Day

Today is better already!  I have no memory of any dreams last night, and (so far) all baby animals in the surrounding area are still alive!

I thank God for all of my prayer warrior friends, because I truly believe that it is because of their prayers that I feel renewed this morning.  Yesterday was rough.  I had moments when I felt like walking away from this adoption.  What I haven't shared on my blog is that we could possibly have to fight for this baby (I'm not going into detail).  The emotional roller coaster that has been my life these last few months had me feeling exhausted.  The idea that it could continue longer was a little unbearable.

As I mentioned in a previous post, we actually had another possible adoption situation arise about a month before Kim made her final decision.  Theses two potential adoptions could not be more different.  I spent that last month praying every night that God's Will would be done.  I believe that this is where God wants us to be.  Will this be a nice, easy path with no bumps?  I can only hope.  Although, judging by our travels so far on this journey, I'm not so sure that will be the case.  I will continue to pray, to trust God, and to ask for his strength.  That's all I can do.  That, and love on this beautiful, baby girl like no on else after she arrives.
