Then I really got to thinking. Last year we went on a mini vacation (weekend getaway) to Hilton Head. We had a good time. It was exciting to see Shiloh play in the ocean and on the beach, but when I had to leave a $30 buffet after eating only a cup of clam chowder soup and a crab cake because Shiloh wanted to run around we started to really think about who all would be in attendence on our next vacation. Our thinking is that while Shiloh is still young enough we might as well take advantage of the fact that hanging out with Grammy is at least as good as, if not better than, a vacation with mommy and daddy.
Getting to the point....
We booked a cruise today!! A cruise for mommy and daddy only!! A cruise to the Bahamas!! I am so excited!!
We haven't gone on a "real vacation", as Richard puts it, in five years. Which just so happens to be when we went on our first cruise. Which was more like our late honeymoon than a vacation. We went to Gatlinburg back in 2007 (early 2007). We needed to get away for a weekend after dealing with all of our infertility stuff. And other than that we did the Hilton Head thing last year (again, just a quick weekend getaway).
It's going to be a quick one since we're limited on time, but still.... A day in Freeport, another day in Nassau, and a "Fun Day at Sea" sound absolutely perfect!
This is going to be well worth the wait....

That will be amazing...uh-mazing :).
We're going to the beach in August, so I'm ready for it to get here too, but the beach doesn't quite compare to a cruise with no little ones!!
